the story
This ring, featuring a parrot perched on a branch, was inspired by the morning and afternoon visits of these vibrant birds to the garden I enjoyed watching from my Amsterdam apartment during the pandemic—parrots thriving in the city’s urban landscape. Though not native to the Netherlands, these resilient birds have flourished here, symbolizing adaptability and survival.
In many cultures, parrots represent vibrant communication, wisdom, and joy.
I hope this cheeky parrot reminds you of the beauty in unexpected moments and the strength to thrive, even in unfamiliar environments.

'Sibli,' meaning 'to whistle' in Esperanto and evoking the word 'sibling' in English, is a collection I created while pregnant with my second child, Mateo, during the most challenging days of the COVID lockdown. I found inspiration in the birds I watched and listened to from my window. These graceful creatures, celebrated in many cultures, embody resilience, joy, hope, loyalty, love, and freedom.
Through a series of whimsical thaumatropes and charms, I sought to capture these values and aspirations.
I hope that by wearing and keeping them close, they will accompany and inspire you.
how it's made
I carefully cut and engrave the motifs by hand on each side of the spinning oval, which I later assemble on a beaded frame that allows it to spin. A touch of dark patina brings out the details. The entire piece is made of solid sterling silver.
